Harrow Building Control is situated in the Place Shaping Directorate at the Civic Centre. We are a team of thirteen surveyors with administrative support and are responsible for the enforcement of the Building Regulations within the borough of Harrow. Building Regulations impose minimum standards designed to safeguard the health and safety of people in and around buildings.

We deal with Full Plans, Building Notice and Regularisation applications, which cover building work on all types of buildings from small domestic extensions to large commercial and industrial developments.

Harrow Building Control has adopted a Customer Charter, which sets out the level of service to be provided. Performance indicators are in place to enable quality objectives to be monitored and a Quality Management System, accredited by BSI under BS EN ISO 9001 (2008), has been in operation since October 2003.
