Harrow Weald conservation areas

There are two conservation areas in Harrow Weald which are Harrow Weald Park conservation area and the Brookshill Drive and Grimsdyke Estate conservation area.

There is an overarching Harrow Weald Conservation Areas Supplementary Document (SPD) for the conservation areas that was adopted in February 2016. 

The purpose of the SPD is to provide a strategic overview of the issues affecting the conservation areas to provide guidance that will help in their preservation and enhancement.

The SPD has two appendices of conservation area appraisals and management strategies, which provide guidance on the character and appearance of the conservation areas and ways to preserve and enhance this character, and are listed below. Permitted development rights in a conservation area already differ somewhat to those outside a conservation area

Some conservation areas have further requirements for planning permission in the form of Article 4 Directions.

An Article 4 Direction applies to some buildings in the Brookshill Drive and Grimsdyke Estate Conservation Area, the information for which is available in the map above.
