Leaseholders

The Deed of Postponement process (DoP)

A DoP is a request for us to postpone their charges on a property in relation to a Right to Buy discount. Requests must be made through your solicitor.

Legislation states that we can only postpone our charges for home improvements.

The leaseholder must provide evidence such as:

  • planning or building control permission
  • and/or a quote from a builder.

Before submitting a request

You will need to do the following before we can process your request:

  • Make a formal request via your solicitor. The request must list the property details. It must also include the re-mortgage amount and the postponed amount.
  • The applicant must provide the current market value of the property.
  • The applicant must provide evidence for what the money will be used for:
    • If the application is for home improvements, three quotes must be provided. Evidence of planning or building control permission must be included.
    • We can inspect any home improvements within six months of the work being completed.
  • The applicant must pay the current administration fees and any legal fees.
