Apply for a street hoarding licence

All hoardings placed on the public highway must be authorised by the council and a licence issued to the provider.

You usually see hoardings around construction sites advertising the new developments or the building contractor's services.

When you submit an application we will check that hoardings requested at specified locations do not:

  • represent a danger to the highway user
  • cause unnecessary obstruction to the free flow of traffic (vehicular and pedestrian)
  • conflict with other planned works or events
