Help to get food

Due to Covid many residents are staying at home. This is due to being clinically extremely vulnerable or self-isolating. For these people it can be difficult to get food and household supplies, especially when home delivery slots at supermarkets are hard to schedule.

Many local independent businesses are now offering a delivery service on a wide range of products, from fresh produce and meat, to fish, dairy goods and ready meals.

Supermarkets and online shopping deliveries

The safest way to buy food and supplies for your household at this time is to purchase them online through major supermarket’s websites.

We do realise that this may be very difficult at this time as demand for food deliveries is currently very high.

If you are a volunteer or you are a neighbour, friend or family member getting shopping for people, The Royal Voluntary Service and NHS have pulled this guide together to help show the different payment options available for shopping.

Are you pregnant or have children under four and are on benefits?

The Healthy Start scheme helps you give your family the very best in life. If you are pregnant or have a child under four years old you could qualify to get Healthy Start vouchers to help buy some basic foods.

If you think this may apply to you please visit Healthy Start.
