Equality Impact Assessments (EqIA)

At Harrow, we have embedded Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs) as a service improvement toolkit. This helps us to determine how our policies, practices or new proposals will impact or affect different communities, particularly those who experience inequality, discrimination, social exclusion or disadvantage.

In order to mainstream EqIAs, each year directorates develop annual EqIA programmes aligned to their service plans, which are monitored by the Directorate Equality Task Groups. 

The EqIAs form part of our decision-making process and accompany all decision-making reports including cabinet papers.  

EqIAs are published together with cabinet papers.
