Children start reception class in September 2027 if they were born between 01/09/2022 and 31/08/2023. To apply for a place, you must complete an application form. Please read the information on this page carefully before applying for a place.

Applications for an immediate school place
If you need a primary school place right now for the current school year, you must fill in the in-year application form.
Applications for families arriving from abroad
In most cases, children moving to England from other countries can attend local schools. Parents should check their child's visa rules first to make sure they are allowed to study at a school in England. Please check these visa rules before you fill in your application. You can find out more on GOV.UK.
Applications for a faith school place
If you are applying to a faith school, you will need to fill in a Supplementary Information Form (SIF). Please complete this form and send it directly to the school before the closing date.
Some faith schools also ask you to fill in a Priest Reference form. You can find more on our school admission arrangements page.
Applying for a primary school place
To apply for a primary school place starting in September 2027, follow these steps:
- You can choose up to six primary schools for your child. You can look at a map to see your nearest primary schools.
- To help you choose, you can look at how school places were allocated in past years.
- If you do not pay Council Tax in Harrow, you must send documents to prove where you live.
- If you live outside of Harrow, you must apply through your own local council.

- 1st September 2026: Applications for primary school places open
- 15th January 2027: Closing date for all applications
- 16th April 2027: Offer day to find out your result
- 30th April 2027: Deadline to accept or decline your school offer
- 17th May 2027: Closing date to send in an appeal, which will be heard during the summer term.
