Applying for a Blue Badge
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
There will be a delay processing new Blue Badge applications and renewals. This will result in a backlog of current applications.
The Government has advised local authority parking teams not to issue Penalty Charge Notices to citizens using Blue Badges with an expiry date of 1 January 2020 onwards. This relaxation of enforcement against expired Blue Badges will continue initially until 30 September 2020.
The relaxation of enforcement to badge holders only applies to local authority parking and not private car parks.
Please read the guidance notes and policy statement before applying:
You will need to upload the following documents to submit your application.
- a passport size photo
- proof of address
- proof of identification (such as passport or driving licence)
- proof of benefits (if you get any)
- any evidence which supports your application
If you do not have all of the relevant documents you will not be able to submit the form. You can save the form and return to complete it at a later date.
It may take 30 to 40 minutes to complete the form. Applications take up to 12 weeks to process.
