Please read the guidance notes and policy statement before applying:
What documents will I need?
You will need to upload the following documents to submit your application:
- a passport size photo
- proof of address
- proof of identification (such as passport or driving licence)
- proof of benefits (if you get any, please provide the full letter showing length of entitlement and points)
Apply
Applications take up to 12 weeks to process
It may take 30 to 40 minutes to complete the form. However, there is the option of saving it, so that you can take a break.
If you do not have all of the relevant documents you will not be able to submit the form.
Paper applications
Paper application forms can be printed and completed by hand. This is for people who are unable to use the online form. Also, we've provided two versions of the form. One is the standard form and the other is an 'Easy Read Form'. This is for people who have difficulty reading.

Easy Read Form
If you find it hard to fill in the form, you can use the Easy Read form instead. You must print out the form first.
Everybody must fill in sections A, B and E. At the end of Section B it tells you if you need to fill in sections C and D.
