Public advertisements for licences

When applying for a licence, a notice needs to be displayed on the premises for at least 28 days. This is 28 days starting on the day after the application was first submitted.

It must be displayed clearly at or on the premises to which the application relates. It must be visible from the exterior of the premises.

In the case of a premises covering an area of more than 50 metres square, further notices are required. They must be in the same form and subject to the same requirements.

They must be displayed every 50 metres on the external perimeter of the premises.

The notice must be:

  • A4 size or larger
  • Pale blue colour
  • Printed or typed in black with a font size of at least 16.

Advertising the notice in a newspaper

The local newspaper notice must be published at least once during a period of 10 working days. This is starting the day after the application was first submitted. The local newspaper for Harrow is the Harrow Times.
