Access 1000s of global newspapers and magazines. You can stay connected to the stories you love on your PC, tablet, or smartphone.

With PressReader you can:

  • Download titles to read offline using the apps. Or, read titles instantly online on the web. This includes previous issues of titles.
  • Get better digital replicas of your favourite newspapers. They look just like the printed version. You can view them in a format designed for screen reading.
  • Sign in with your membership number and PIN and register for an account. Once signed in you will have access for 30 days before needing to sign in again.

Overdrive

Access 1000s of eBooks, audiobooks, and digital magazines. Overdrive is great for adults. It is also good for teens and kids.

  • Overdrive has a huge range of digital magazines. All your old favourites from RB Digital have moved over. Plus, there are many new titles to find. View the magazines.
  • Lucky Day is a special collection of best-selling eBooks and audiobooks. They are available first come, first served. You can borrow them for 14 days. But, you can't renew them. They're returned at the end of the loan period. The list of titles will change as books are returned to the collection. Visit Lucky Day.
  • Learn from a wide range of languages. View language courses.
  • Visit the kids' collection for picture books. It also has a 'read-along' option for kids under five. You'll find a wide range of children's fiction and homework help by subject. There are special collections promoted on a regular basis. This is especially helpful if you are unsure what to read. The books are recommended by library staff. View the kids' collection.
  • Visit the teen collection for a wide range of fiction. It also has study guides for young adults. We regularly promote special collections. So, if you need help finding a good read, they have information on social issues and wellbeing. Visit the teen collection.
  • They have many graphic novels, manga, and comics. They have a full collection of Marvel Comics plus DC Comics and Vertigo. View graphic novels and comics.
  • They have a state-of-the-art reading experience. Libby’s ebook reader makes it easy to customise how you read - online or offline. You can adjust an ebook's font size, book layout, and lighting. As you read, you can also add bookmarks. You can create notes and highlights. You can also look up and define words. View the Libby app.

You will not need special software. You can read or listen through your browser. Or, download the Libby app to enjoy your eBook or audiobook offline.

Borrowbox

Access 1000s of audiobooks and eBooks. You can download them to your computer or mobile device.

Check the 'discover page'. There, you will find collections picked just for you. They have recommendations for all ages. Including new, best-selling, award-winning, and popular titles. If you have any questions visit the Borrowbox help page.

Ulverscroft uLibrary

This is a new service for Harrow Library members. Access 1000s of audiobooks from Ulverscroft. 

Download and listen to audiobooks. They are brought to life by some of the world's best performers.

It has a great selection of bestselling authors. They include Lee Child, Ann Cleeves, and James Patterson. You can take 'that book you keep hearing about' with you wherever you go.

It has titles for everyone's taste. They range from 'sleep with the lights on' thrillers to sweeping family sagas. You'll be sure to find something to listen to. Best of all, there's no late fees.

Titles are returned automatically. This means you can move on to your next listen with ease.
