Our Environmental Health Domestic Team handles checking conditions in private rented accommodation.
We aim to improve the poorest housing conditions within the private rented sector. We're addressing matters that affect health, safety and well being.
This is especially for those who have the least control over the standards of their accommodation.
We achieve this by working with the landlords and managing agents. When we need to, we also use our enforcement powers to serve legal notices.
This is so we can respond to complaints and help tenants and improve the housing quality within Harrow.
We target properties that are:
- not maintained to a suitable standard
- overcrowded
- have damp and mould issues
