Disabled Persons Travel Pass (Freedom Pass)

Obtain a freedom pass

seniorThe Freedom Pass can be used by those Harrow residents with a disability at any age - subject to meeting the disability criteria.

If you are aged over 60 and have an Older Persons travel pass (Freedom Pass) you will be asked to return it if you are issued with a Disabled Persons travel pass (Freedom Pass).

You can obtain a Freedom Pass if you have a disability and meet certain criteria.

This will allow you to travel free within London on both buses and tube trains at any time, and on local rail services between 9.30am and 4.30am the following morning Monday to Friday plus all day at weekends and public holidays.

  • You should be registered as disabled before applying for a Disabled Freedom Pass.
  • You must be a permanent resident of Harrow.

If you are not registered as disabled you should in the first instance contact the Harrow team most appropriate to your situation - see list below. They will expain the situation and talk you through the process of getting a pass.

  • Access Harrow/social services:
    For over 65 year olds with sensory impairment
  • Harrow Learning Disabilities team:
    For those with learning difficulties
  • Mental Health:
    There are two offices, south & west, or east
    South and west Harrow residents including Pinner
    East Harrow residents including Stanmore
  • Older People Services:
    There are two offices, for residents east of the borough and west of the borough
  • Children with Disabilities Services:
    For children with disabilities

Renewing Disabled Freedom Passes
Once you have been issued with a Disabled Freedom Pass, they are valid for two years. You will be written to beforehand on when to attend the Civic Centre and what information you require.
