The procedure for Harrow Council staff to visit schools

All school visits must be pre-arranged

Harrow Council staff must provide the following when visiting schools:

  • proof of identity, and
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance

This statement provides assurance that employment checks have been carried out by the Local Authority:

We can confirm that all of the following have been subject to an enhanced DBS check:

  • social work staff
  • early intervention officers
  • school improvement officers employed by Harrow Council

This applies to both locum and permanent staff in the positions of:

  • Advisory Teachers - Autism Spectrum
  • Children's Sensory Team
  • Deputy Managers
  • Divisional Directors
  • Early Intervention Workers
  • Educational Psychology Service (EPS)  
  • Gym and Playground Inspection
  • Harrow Council Gardening Services
  • Harrow Virtual School
  • Members of Harrow School Standards and Effectiveness (HSSE)
  • Music Service Teachers and Tutors
  • Operations Managers
  • Portage
  • School Organisation, Admissions and Attendance (Including Court Attendance Officers and Alternative Provision Lead)
  • Schools Finance Team
  • SIMS Team
  • Social Work Assistants
  • Social Workers
  • Special Education Need Assessment & Review Service (SENARS)
  • Team Managers
  • Trade Waste

All staff are required to provide proof of identity when they visit your school.

We confirm that you should accept a photographic Harrow Council ID badge in this regard.
