Search and comment on a planning application

Every member of the public has the right to comment on an application that affects them. However, only comments that are related to planning issues will be taken into account in assessing an application.

Planning applications, including plans, drawings and other documents viewed through these pages, are made available by the Council pursuant to Section 47 of the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 ("the Act").

By accessing and using this information you are accepting and agreeing to comply with the requirements of the Act. You may only download or print material:

  • for consultation purposes,
  • to compare current applications with previous schemes
  • to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans.

Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner.

To make a comment on a planning application you will need to sign in or register for a MyHarrow Account first.

How to comment on an application

  • Once you have signed in, navigate to 'search' under the planning option
  • Enter the planning reference number you would like to comment on
  • Enter your comment in the 'Make a representation' section (below the map)
  • Uploads or attachments will need to be in .PDF format.

Once you submit your comment an officer will consider it as part of the application and publish it online if it meets the guidelines. 

You should clearly state the reasons why you are supporting or objecting to the development proposal, and these reasons should relate to planning issues only.

You can also make a comment on applications by sending your written representation to Planning and Building Control, PO Box 1358, Harrow, HA3 3QN.

Guidelines

  • online comments can only be submitted against 'live' applications; ones that have been made valid but not yet decided
  • you should clearly state the reasons why you are supporting or objecting to the proposed development, and these reasons should relate to planning issues only
  • our policy is to publish names and private property addresses, but not email addresses, signatures or telephone numbers
  • your reply can be viewed by the applicant and the public both at the council's offices and online
  • we do not send acknowledgement emails
