Harrow to fall silent to remember fallen heroes - services will be held in Harrow, Edgware and Pinner. The Mayor will lead Remembrance Sunday service in Harrow Town Centre.

On Sunday 9 November, at 11am Harrow will fall silent to remember and pay tribute to our armed forces and those who fought in the first and second world wars and those after. Remembrance Sunday services are taking place in Pinner, Edgware, and Harrow Town Centre. Harrow’s service is the largest outside of the Cenotaph in Westminster.

This year marks 106 years since the first Armistice Day commemoration in 1919. The Mayor of Harrow Cllr Anjana Patel will lead the service at Harrow Town Centre with the King’s Representative Deputy Lieutenant Mr Simon Ovens. The service will also include the parade which will include armed forces, cadets, scouts and other organisation. They’ll march from Greenhill Way through Station Road and stop at the war memorial on St Anns Road. Residents are invited to join the service.

A two-minute silence will be held at 11am to honour those who sacrificed their lives in service. Prayers will be read out followed by wreath laying. The Mayor’s children’s poetry competition winners will also read their winning poems.

The town parade will leave at 10:15am and traffic will be paused for a short period of time.
