One of Harrow’s most treasured, well loved and historic venues – Headstone Manor and Museum- has been awarded £419,420 from Arts Council England’s Museum Renewal Fund.
Located in one of Harrow's award winning Green Flag parks, this funding will help protect the borough’s rich history and keep the museum free and open to all. Locals and park users will also see an expansion of the museum’s events programme with exciting new activities including candlelight concerts, outdoor cinema, live theatre, and a festive light trail.
It’s one of the many ways the council is bringing more opportunities for residents to enjoy arts and culture right on their doorstep.
Councillor Janet Mote, Cabinet Member for Community & Culture, said:
“This funding from the Arts Council is brilliant news for us – especially in Harrow’s Jubilee year! It means we can continue to showcase Harrow’s heritage to all of our residents – and offer more opportunities to experience the Borough’s Arts and Culture. A big thank you to everyone who helped us achieve this successful bid.”
The funding period runs from August 2025 and January 2026, during which time we will explore new ways to bring in income, improve collections care, and upgrade our digital systems - all so we can better meet the needs of our residents and ensure the museum’s long-term future.
This grant allows us to support our staff and strengthen day-to-day operations, so visitors continue to enjoy a warm and welcoming experience.
