Unique investment opportunity for 15 buildings in green spaces to be leased
- A chance to breathe life back into assets such as a former bowls pavilion and chapel offices set within a Cemetery
- First round of applications now open for local organisations
Over the next year, 15 unique spaces will be available to lease, including former bowls pavilions, historic chapel offices, a characterful old dairy and scout hut rooms – each with its own story and potential. These buildings may have fallen into disrepair, but with your vision, they could become vibrant community hubs, creative studios, wellness centres, or something entirely new.
We’re inviting local organisations to be part of something special – a chance to help restore pride and purpose to some of Harrow’s buildings nestled within some of our parks and green spaces.
If you’re looking for a bold or unique space - applications are now open for five buildings to local groups and organisations. If you have an established community-focused service or business that could flourish in a green space and breathe life into these buildings, we’d like to hear from you. We will also have a further 10 buildings to view and pitch for in the coming months, with round two opening in January 2026 and round three in March.
Our parks are the heart of Harrow – places where people connect, recharge and thrive. That’s why we’re investing £6 million over the next three years to enhance and improve. Thanks to ongoing investment and community support, more of Harrow’s parks are now flying the prestigious Green Flag – growing from six to eight. It’s a sign of quality, care and pride we’re putting into our green spaces.
Cllr Janet Mote Cabinet Member for Community & Culture said:
“Our parks are cherished spaces, loved by everyone. This is a wonderful opportunity for local organisations to reimagine and reinvent some of Harrow’s hidden gems. They may be worn with time but are rich in potential. With a sprinkle of creativity and care, they can once again become places that bring people together, spark ideas and enjoyed by the community for generations to come. We’re proud to be investing in our parks – and now we’re inviting you to be part of that story.”
Cllr Norman Stevenson Cabinet Member for Business, Employment & Property said:
“This is more than a property opportunity – it’s a call to action for anyone with a bold idea and a passion for community. Whether you’re a grassroots group, a local business, or a visionary entrepreneur, we want to hear from you. These spaces are waiting to be transformed - into places of purpose, creativity, and connection. If you’ve got a vision that could make a difference, now’s the time to bring it to life.”
Applicants will need to meet the specified criteria and be an established local organisation or group who wants to invest in community and green spaces by reinventing and reimagining these buildings with proposals which have community at their heart.
There will be a further opportunity to apply on 5 January 2026 and 9 March 2026.
