Gambling premises licence

What is a Gambling premises licence?

You will need a Gambling premises licence if you intend to:

  • carry out activities such as bingo, betting and gaming machines on your premises.

Adult Gaming Centre (AGC) licence

You will need an AGC licence if you want to make gaming machines available to use on your premises.

Betting (non-track) licence

You will need a Betting licence if you want to operate a betting shop. This licence is not applicable for betting at a track. 

Bingo licence

You will need a Bingo licence if you want to offer bingo in all its forms in bingo halls and clubs.

Family Entertainment Centre (FEC) licence

You will need a FEC licence if the main purpose of your premise is to provide gaming machines for use.

For the above licence types, the holder must have an operating licence and a premises licence under the Gambling Act 2005.
