Grants to move scheme

The London Borough of Harrow has introduced a Grant to Move Scheme which is available to all Council housing tenants subject to eligibility.

What is the Grant to Move Scheme?

It is a scheme where The London Borough of Harrow can provide financial assistance to eligible council tenants who want to buy a property and give up their council tenancy.

There are three options:

Shared Ownership: London Borough of Harrow Schemes

We will offer 20% of the value of a share in a London Borough of Harrow shared ownership scheme property that the tenant wishes to purchase.

This amount will be capped at £30,000 and is only available for London Borough of Harrow shared ownership schemes managed by London Borough of Harrow.

Shared Ownership: Other social landlords

We will offer 10% of the value of a share in a shared ownership scheme managed by another social landlord. This amount will be capped at a maximum of £25,000.

Open Market

We will offer 10% of the purchase price of any property being bought on the open market within England - capped at a maximum of £25,000.
