The Health Visiting Service is a specialist team that provides advice, support and intervention to families with children in the first years of life and helps empower parents to make decisions that affect their family’s future health and wellbeing.
The team can offer you and your family support before your baby arrives, in the early weeks after birth and as your child grows. Staff work alongside you and your family with any parenting issues and guide you to find your local services and groups that can also support you as a parent.
You can find information about the schedule of health checks for your child as well as times and locations of drop-in clinics from the Harrow Health Visiting Service.
The school nursing service carries out a child’s health screen in Reception that includes height, weight and vision tests, as well as height and weight measurements in Year 6. They also provide general health and wellbeing advice and specialist assistance for children with medical needs like asthma.
