Tuesday Talk: Mary Shelley in Harrow

Discover Mary Shelley's experiences in Harrow through her journals and letters at this fascinating Tuesday Talk.

A repeat, for those that missed it, of the over-subscribed talk given previously in 2023. The writer Mary Shelley, famous for Frankenstein, lived in Harrow for three years, from 1833 to 1836, while her son attended Harrow School. During this time she wrote prolifically. However the death of a friend and the end of a secret romance led to loneliness and depression. Explore her life in Harrow – including two earlier visits to the area – through her journals and letters.
