Harrow’s population is richly diverse, our children and young people come from a wide range of backgrounds and may have particular dietary, cultural or religious needs. Some children or young people may be on their own and others may be with brothers and sisters who need to stay together.
Above all, the children in our care want and need the same experiences as any other child, and the role of the foster carer is to bring warmth, stability and continuity of care to their lives. Fostering can be one of life’s most rewarding challenges.
Can I foster?
Fostering is for all. You can be single, gay, straight, a couple or a family, homeowner, renting, in employment or not working.
You need to be over 18 years of age, in good health, have no child related criminal offences and be able to provide a suitable home environment.
