Families Information Service (FIS)

Harrow Families Information Service

Harrow FIS provides information, advice and guidance on a wide range of services including:

  • entitlements
  • support and activities for families with children aged 0-19 (or 25 if the young person has a disability or additional needs) and the professionals working with them. 

The FIS provides information on:

  • Childcare provision in the London Borough of Harrow (Ofsted registered and non-registered)  
  • Early education and childcare funding entitlements  
  • Early Support Hubs
  • Activities for families, children and young people  
  • Local and national services and voluntary organisations which offer information advice support to families with children

Harrow FIS also provides information, advice and guidance to:

  • Existing childcare providers
  • People who are interested in a childminding career  
  • People who are interested
  • in working in the childcare profession or wanting to set up daycare provision (nursery/playgroup/before and after school club/holiday playscheme)  
  • Professionals working with children and families  
  • Existing childcare providers  
  • People looking to register as childminders  
  • People looking to work in the childcare profession
  • Setting up a daycare
  • Family support information

The service operates a telephone helpline and email service from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm excluding bank holidays.
