Naming ceremonies

A naming ceremony is a great way to:

  • celebrate the birth of a new baby
  • welcome an adopted child or
  • welcome step-children into your family.

Any parent or guardian can arrange a naming ceremony. There is no age limit, so older children can join too.

The ceremony is non-religious and has no legal standing. It is just a way to show love and support for your child.

Our registrars are trained to make sure your ceremony is a special day. We can tailor your ceremony to suit your child’s age and your family's traditions.

Each ceremony lasts for around 30 minutes and includes:

  • introduction and greetings
  • readings and/or music
  • naming of the child
  • the parents’ promises to their child
  • signing of the commemorative certificate
  • any closing words.

At the end, you will get a commemorative certificate.
