Those born on or before 26 September 1956 could get between £250 and £600 to help with heating bills.
Residents who are entitled are automatically paid in November or December.
The Winter Fuel Payment is aimed at residents who are long-term ill, disabled, or are of state pension age.
Am I eligible for the Winter Fuel Payment?
To be eligible for the Winter Fuel Payment you must be receiving one of the following
- Pension Credit
- Income Support
- Income Support based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Income support based Employment and Support Allowance
- Universal Credit
You should receive the Winter Fuel Payment automatically if you receive one of the benefits mentioned above.
Any money you get towards your heating bill will not affect any other benefits.
