Harrow is the place for small businesses. Entrepreneurs, shopkeepers, accountants and solicitors, designers, creatives and foodies. These are the people who make Harrow great.
It is now more important than ever that we help our local economy thrive again following the pandemic.
From 1st August 2022 we’re offering an hour’s free parking across high streets and shopping areas in the borough to help boost the local economy.
Businesses are now able to be a part of the campaign and get involved.

The Shop Local campaign is one of the ways we can encourage residents to support local businesses, and showcase all that our high streets have to offer.
To help, we have developed a range of resources that can be used on your own websites and social media channels.
What you can do:
- Share our message online (MS Word): social media posts eg “One hour free on-street parking across Harrow! #ShopLocal and support your local high street”
- Download digital assets: here you'll find assets such as email banners and social media graphics or print items such as posters to use in your shop front.
- Post all types of weekly online content. For example deals, what’s new, tips and advice in your industry – don’t forget to use the hashtag #ShopLocalShopHarrow.
