Service updates, changes and closures
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is significantly impacting some of our services and we have been reviewing our business continuity plans to ensure essential services for vulnerable people remain accessible.
Updates on key changes to services, closures and disruptions will be displayed on this page.
Adult Social Care

Phone lines - We are prioritising resources to make sure services for the vulnerable continue. This includes continuing to provide normal services in response to Care Act referrals and reviews. Phone lines for Adult social care services remain open: 0208 901 2680.

Taxicards - If you have a Taxicard, you can use it to arrange deliveries of essential goods. Each time you do this it will use up one of your allocated trips, no additional trips will be added. For details see London Council Taxicard Changes.

Neighbourhood Resource Centre closures - Vaughan, Kenmore, The Bridge Day Centre, New Bentley, Wiseworks and Milmans remain closed until further notice.

Appointments and visits to the Civic Centre

Appointments and bookings - We are not accepting bookings for appointments at our one-stop-shop. All prior booked appointments are now postponed.

One-Stop-Shop - Our One-Stop-Shop is closed to visitors however you can still use our self-service payment kiosks and deliver important documents to our internal post box. |

Bins, Waste and Recycling

Harrow Recycling Centre - The Harrow recycling centre will remain open in Tier 3 but will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
You now need to book a visiting slot online if you want to visit the Harrow Recycling Centre.

Garden Waste service subscriptions - Subscriptions for new Garden Waste plans are now closed until January 2021.

Births, Deaths and Marriages

Registering a death - All deaths are now being registered by phone. Phone us on 0208 901 2665 to book a telephone appointment.

Reduced email service - Our phone lines have reopened but we are running a reduced email service so some delays should be expected.

Environment and Parks

Outdoor leisure facilities - Facilities such as tennis courts, basketball courts and outdoor gyms are closed.

Playgrounds in parks - Children's play areas and open spaces will remain open. |

Allotments and facility bookings - Allotment services and Pitch bookings will operate an online only service.

Social distancing enforcement - Enforcement officers are carrying out regular patrols of our parks to ensure adherence to social distancing.

Health and Leisure

Health and leisure centre closures - Harrow leisure centre, Bannister Sports Centre and Hatch End Swimming Pool are closed.

Outdoor leisure facilities - Facilities such as tennis courts, basketball courts and outdoor gyms are closed.

Stop smoking service - The Stop smoking service is open and offering virtual appointments when face to face appointments are not possible.

Housing and Property

Phone lines - Access Harrow is taking all Council Housing service calls Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm. They can be reached at 0208 901 2630. |

Caretaking services - We’re running a reduced caretaking service focusing on urgent health and safety tasks, litter picking and bulk removal. Please remember to keep communal areas clear of items to keep you and other residents safe.

Library closures - Greenhill, Kenton and Roxeth libraries are closed until further notice.

Library openings - Pinner, Stanmore and Wealdstone libraries are now open. |
