Reactive repair works
All footways and carriageways in the borough are inspected by the council's highway inspectors between three and four times a year. As a result of these inspections localised minor works and repairs are implemented where a defect exceeds the council’s intervention levels and is considered to be a potential hazard to pedestrians or vehicles. This work is aimed at keeping the highway asset condition safe for the travelling public and complies with national guidance.
Highway inspectors will undertake additional safety inspections to investigate reports from the public. A risk based assessment will identify if there is a need for repairs to be undertaken. Please use the button below to report a defect:
