What is a building control report?
A building control report provides information held by the Council about building regulation applications and decisions for a property.
It may include:
- building regulation applications submitted for the property
- approvals granted
- inspections carried out
- completion certificates, where available
You can request a building control report for your property if you are:
- the owner of the property
- the landlord of the property
- a solicitor acting on behalf of the owner of the property
If you are a search company or conveyancing firm you can request up to five reports at a time.
What is a planning history report?
A planning history report provides information held by the Council about planning applications relating to a property.
It may include:
- planning applications submitted for the property
- decisions made on applications
- appeal decisions, where applicable
- planning history held in council records
If you only need to see planning history since 2005, you can find it on our Planning Portal.
Request a building control or planning history report
Before you start you will need:
- the address for each property
- a credit or debit card to pay the fee (£10.80 per search, per property. Includes VAT)
You can request reports for up to 5 properties in one application, but please note that there is a separate charge of £10.80 for each property.
