A Harrow Wins lottery player has enjoyed a summer surprise, scooping £2,000 while supporting local charity Hope Harrow that helped her when her children were young.
Money raised through Harrow Wins helps Hope Harrow continue its vital work, helping families live and learn together. The charity offers one-to-one mentoring alongside a range of parenting courses. Some courses draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approaches, while others are bespoke, built around the needs of the families taking part. Workshops cover topics including positive discipline, anger management, keeping teens safe online and more, giving parents practical tools to navigate life with their children at every age.
The winner, Diana, said:
"I'm pleased to support Hope Harrow through Harrow Wins. This charity is very close to my heart. When I was a single mum bringing up two boys, I enrolled on HOPE's parenting course which helped me through the early years and also later as my boys became teenagers."
Looking ahead, Hope Harrow hopes to build on this support to reach even more families and carers across Harrow through its mentoring, courses and workshops.
Cllr Janet Mote, Cabinet Member for Community and Culture, said:
"Congratulations to Diana on her £2,000 win, and thank you to everyone who plays Harrow Wins. It's fantastic to hear how charities like Hope Harrow are making a real difference to families across the borough. Diana's story is a brilliant example of how the support on offer can have a lasting impact, and I'd encourage more residents to get involved by playing Harrow Wins."
Harrow Wins is a vital fundraising platform for charities and community groups across the borough. At least 60% of every £1 ticket sold goes directly to good causes in Harrow, with players also in with a chance of winning up to £25,000 every week.
This win shows how playing Harrow Wins supports both players and the local community.
