Learn, train and work with a new programme of support. Residents can gain new skills, qualifications and jobs through London Talent Pathways.
Harrow residents will be able to gain new skills, qualifications and direct routes into work thanks to a £1.4m investment secured by Learn Harrow.
Our new programme London Talent Pathways (LTP). will help residents who want to move into rewarding careers in:
- Health and Social Care, including childcare and adult care
- Finance and Professional Business Services, including business administration and customer service
- Education, including courses that prepare learners to work in schools
The courses are designed for people at different stages of their career journey, whether they are looking for their first job, returning to work, changing careers or developing new skills to progress in their current role.
Councillor Chetna Halai, Cabinet Member for Business and Property said:
"This is about opening doors for Harrow residents. London Talent Pathways will help people gain the skills, qualifications and confidence to move into work, progress in their careers and access real opportunities with local employers.
“This is one of many ways we’re putting residents first and we’ll continue to look at ways to open new opportunities.”
A key feature of the programme is the commitment to connecting learners directly with employment opportunities. Participants who successfully complete their training will have access to guaranteed job interviews with employer partners, providing a clear route into work.
Notes to editors
Learners will have the opportunity to gain industry-recognised qualifications from Level 1 and above, helping to improve their career prospects and earning potential. Evening courses will also be available for residents who are already in work and want to upskill.
Alongside vocational training, participants will receive personalised support to help them overcome barriers to employment and achieve their goals in:
- English language support
- Maths skills development
- Vocational and Digital skills training
- Employability support, including CV writing, interview preparation and job search advice
- One-to-one guidance from experienced advisers
The programme supports London's wider skills and employment agenda by helping residents access jobs in growing industries while giving employers access to a skilled local workforce.
