Celebrate the £1.4m refurbishment which offers new space and equipment to improve your fitness journey Meet our special guest - Team GB Olympic sprinter and Gladiator Harry Aikines-Aryeetey,
Grab your trainers, bring your swimsuit and head to Harrow Leisure Centre for a free day of fitness, family fun and Olympic inspiration. We are celebrating the centre’s £1.4m transformation with a free open day on Saturday 12 September, 10am – 4pm. Join us and explore the centre’s newly refurbished facilities and jump into a packed programme of free activities, with special guest Olympic sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Gladiators Star Nitro. From float swimming sessions and soft play to group cycling, BodyPump, yoga, Zumba and Pilates, there will be plenty of ways to get moving, try something new and enjoy our upgraded leisure centre.
Harry will talk about the importance of staying active, building healthy habits, and share his own sporting experience. There will also be a chance to grab a selfie with him at the end. To avoid disappointment, book your free place to the session in advance. *
And that’s not all! Children and families can enjoy face painting and a bouncy castle, while viral TikTok football freestyler Jamie Knight will host three interactive bookable sessions throughout the day, featuring a live freestyle show, football skills workshop and the opportunity to meet Jamie. *
Cllr Janet Mote, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Community said:
“This is a brilliant chance for residents to come down, get active and see for themselves the upgrades at Harrow Leisure Centre. Whether you want to try a class, enjoy a swim, meet Nitro or bring the children along for some family fun, there will be something for everyone. We’re proud to support healthier, more active lives in Harrow, and I hope this open day inspires more people to make the most of these excellent facilities.”
The open day marks the completion of a significant investment into Harrow Leisure Centre following Everyone Active securing a new 10-year partnership with the London Borough of Harrow earlier this year.
The refurbishment has transformed the centre, with a fully refurbished gym, an expanded ladies-only gym, two larger group exercise studios and a larger group cycle studio, creating more opportunities for local people of all ages and abilities to enjoy sport, fitness and wellbeing.
* Bookings for activities, including Harry Aikines-Aryeetey’s family talk, Q&A session and adult fitness masterclass, will open two weeks before the event and can be made online or by contacting Harrow Leisure Centre directly.
