Safe Haven: A space to feel safe in the town centre after hours

Police and council volunteers on hand for those in need of help, 9pm-3am Friday and Saturday 26th November to 4th December

Harrow’s night life is booming again as we enter the festive period post lockdown. We want you to feel help is always available if you need it in the town centre.

Whether you need some safety advice or a place to keep trouble at bay, our Safe Haven by Kate’s Statue on Station Road, on the junction with St Ann’s Road, is a space to feel secure after dark.

Volunteers will be on hand to assist anyone who needs help between 9pm and 3am each Friday and Saturday. Safe Haven, a joint operation with the council and police, runs until 4th December.

Cllr Peymana Assad, responsible for Community Cohesion, Crime and Enforcement, said: “As we enjoy going out and meeting up again this year, Safe Haven reassures those of us making use of Harrow’s night life that there is always a friendly face and helping hand available.

“This is a welcome initiative for both people in the community enjoying the run up to Christmas in a way we couldn’t last year and the town centre businesses doing their best to keep people safe while having fun.
“Well done to the police and council officers involved in making this happen and helping everyone to have a great, safe festive period.”
