Team sports are back and from Monday you could be enjoying them on a new state of the art pitch.
The full-size 3G floodlit pitch at Bannister Sports Centre is opening on 3 May alongside refurbished changing areas thanks to £25,000 investment from Harrow Council.
The new look facilities with have been transformed with the help of a £380,000 grant from the Premier League and FA Facilities Fund.
Tim Bryan, Head of Service, Culture and Leisure at Harrow Council, said:
“People have been eager to return to the sports they love and we are delighted to be welcoming them back with these much-needed new facilities. We are grateful to Premier League and FA Facilities Fund.”
Bannisters began welcoming back individual and household indoor activities this month following the lifting of some Covid restrictions. It is looking forward to resuming group fitness and aqua classes, ice skating and children’s soft play later in May in line with the Government’s Covid roadmap.
John Sewell, Contract Manager at Everyone Active which manages Bannisters in partnership with Harrow Council, said:
“It’s an exciting time for the centre. Bannister Sports Centre remains an integral part of the community and we’re sure that our members will benefit greatly from this.”
