Murals go straight to the art of Wealdstone and Rayners Lane

It’s time to paint our towns … You arty people told us what mural designs and colours you wanted to lift your spirits and inspire you in Wealdstone and Rayners Lane - and now we’re going to create them for you (subject to planning permission, of course!)

We had a great response to our consultations earlier this year – thank you for showing how proud you are of your neighbourhoods.

The issues we faced with painting a mural on the wall of 1 High Street, Wealdstone, have also been resolved.

The architects WeTheSeeds Creative developed a welcome sign to Wealdstone and with its bright and cheerful colours, it also reflects the diversity of Wealdstone’s people, as well as its industrial and creative heritage.

Here are the designs with the most votes – we just ask you to make any comments online as planning permission is considered:

The mural designs have been submitted for planning permission and are available to view and comment on using the following application numbers:

  • P/2991/20 for 1 High Street
  • P/2993/20 for 33 High Street (Wealdstone Square)
  • P/2996/20 for 51 High Street/Gordon Road.
  • P/3009/20 for 233 Imperial Drive
  • P/3010/20 for Rayners Lane Bridge

Subject to planning permission being granted, the murals will be painted in November 2020.
