Finally, the gates are open, lessons prepared, teachers ready - and all pupils from every year group are expected in. Welcome back to school!
Each school must meet the necessary requirements and, while schools in Harrow are self-governing, the council will support them in any way we can. Our priority is always to ensure the safety of those who live and work in Harrow.
Schools have drawn up plans to ensure children receive an education even if the situation changes. Being in ‘bubbles’ helps children learn with fellow pupils in a large group, often incorporating one whole class or year group.
Start and finish times, breaks and lunch times may be staggered to keep bubbles apart. Ensuring these distinct groups do not mix makes it easier to identify contacts if a positive Covid-19 case emerges. Your school will tell you all the steps that they are taking in light of government guidance. If a teacher or pupil has symptoms they must isolate immediately and book a Covid-19 test.
