Harrow’s Heroes to be honoured in special month-long celebration

We have all been moved and humbled seeing the incredible work by key workers and volunteers across the borough during the Coronavirus pandemic.

In honour of these individuals, and their countless community-spirited acts, we invite you to join us in a special Harrow’s Heroes awards this year.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus emergency, things are a little different and we’ve moved our celebrations online.

Each week throughout the month we will be revealing the nominees on our social media channels, Twitter and Facebook - and we want you to join us, show your support and say thank you to our Harrow’s Heroes.

Cllr Sue Anderson, Cabinet Member for Community Engagement and Accessibility, said:

“Those on the front line in the battle against Covid-19 must rightly be recognised as heroes – and we have our fair share of them in the borough.

This online celebration of their efforts and those of others who have done some amazing volunteering work, recognises their selfless spirit and community action – and is our way of saying thank you!

So please take the time to tune in online and find out more about those who have given so much this year.”

From our emergency services, carers, food distributers and teachers; to volunteers, street cleaners, befrienders and transport drivers – these are just a handful of things, but Harrow has an army of heroes.
