200kg of filth dumped in a beautiful green space traced back to Florea Builders
Builders who left a disgusting eyesore at a much loved open space in Harrow have been ordered to pay a total £5051.50. Florea Builders Ltd left the filthy fly-tip weighing 200kg in Stanmore Common which was traced back by Harrow Council’s enforcement officers.
Cllr Varsha Parmar, cabinet member for environment said:
“I am disgusted that someone would spoil a beautiful part of Harrow that is loved by many people. Florea Builders showed no respect and thought they could get away with dumping waste illegally. Thankfully our eagled eyed officers traced rubbish and took them to court. We don’t take these things lightly. If you’re going to spoil our borough, be prepared to face the law!”
It’s a reminder for anyone paying contractors who remove waste to check they have a waste carrier licence.
