The Environmental Health Domestic Team is responsible for checking conditions in private rented accommodation.
We aim to improve the poorest housing conditions within the private rented sector. We will address matters that affect health, safety and well being, particularly for those who have the least control over the standard of their living accommodation.
We achieve this by working with the landlords and managing agents. If necessary, we also use our enforcement powers to serve legal notices. This is so we can respond to complaints and help tenants, whilst we improve the housing quality within Harrow.
We target properties that are:
- poorly maintained
