Hate crime

Hate crime is defined as any criminal offence which is perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by a hostility or prejudice based on a personal characteristic, specifically race, religion/ faith, sexual orientation, disability and transgender identity.

Hate crime in Harrow

Harrow is a diverse borough recognized for tolerance and inclusion, where the rich diversity of the borough is celebrated and an inclusive society is encouraged.

We are also determined to pursue a zero-tolerance approach to hate crime.

The Council is working to raise awareness of the ways of reporting hate crime, so that the police and partners can take action to bring the perpetrators to justice and so that victims can get the support they need.
