Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) are issued for various reasons by either Council Enforcement Officers or by our approved third party for such offences.
FPNs are issued either on the spot (in person) or by post and you may get a fine of up to £400.
Examples of some offences:
- littering
- spitting
- dog fouling
- breach of a dog control
- driving over footpaths, footways and verges
Pay a FPN you received in person
If you have been stopped by one of our officers and given a FPN on the spot, you can pay your fine online.
Before you start

- Your reference number (found on your FPN)
- Your payment details

To pay your FPN by telephone please call 0333 313 4291 (open 24 hours). Please have your reference number and payment details ready.
Please note that we are unable to deal with parking offences or penalty charge notices on this number.
Pay a FPN you received by post
If you have been sent an environmental health FPN by post with a WK/xxx reference number you can pay your fine online.

Dispute a FPN
You must pay the FPN while you are waiting for the outcome of your dispute.
Before you start
To dispute a FPN please provide:
- Your name
- Your address
- WK/xxx reference number (found on your FPN)
- Your defence (why you think you should not have been issued with a FPN)
