Diplomats exemption
This exemption applies if an occupant has diplomatic or immunity privileges under:
- Diplomatic privileges Act 1964
- Commonwealth secretariat Act 1996
- Consular relations Act 1968
- Commonwealth countries and Republic of Ireland order 1985
- International organizations Act 1968
- Hong Kong Economic Trade Act 1996
They must not:
- be a British Citizen
- be a permanent resident in the UK
- have another property in the UK which is their main residence.

- You will need to provide a TX19 from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Apply for an exemption for diplomats
To apply you will need to:
- Download and complete the application form
- Scan the completed application form using either a scanner or taking a picture of it using your mobile phone
- Attach the documents and answer all of the questions on the evidence form
