How and where the council communicates the opportunity to sell to the council depends upon the type and value of contract available and legal requirements for awarding such contracts.
Where a contract is tendered by public notice and the contract value of the goods and services is in excess of certain values (currently £164,176 for goods or services, £4,104,394 for construction/works), the contract must be advertised within the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).
It is then published online as Tenders Electronic Daily (TED). Any organisation is able to search TED and receive free tender alerts from it.
The council uses an e-procurement system called the London Tenders Portal to advertise and manage tenders and to seek quotations.
Any organisation is able to register within London Tenders Portal and receive free tender alerts from it.
The council uses the Harrow Business Directory to research our local market and to seek quotations.
The Economic Development team send newsletters out to organisations registered within the Directory. Organisations with a Harrow address can register for free within this online directory.
