Greener Harrow

The HSP has overall responsibility for overseeing the Sustainable Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement (LAA) . Greener Harrow (GH) is a sub-group of the Sustainable Development and Enterprise Management Group (SD&EMG) has no service delivery mandate.

Sustainable Development

Development that meets the need of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Sphere of Interest includes

• Natural Environment - air, land and water utilisation, quality, pollution, access
• Climate change - energy utilisation, fuel options, renewables
• Resources (natural & made) - use, disposal, re-use
• Bio-diversity
• Built Environment - incl. neighbourhoods, buildings, commercial, private & public realm
• Transportation - goods & people - modes of transport (road, train, personal e.g. cycle, walking), facilities, management

The aim of the group

To proactively and reactively inform the SD&EMG on issues within GH's Sphere of Interest, encourage the delivery of the GH actions in the Sustainable Community Strategy and such other actions as may be agreed from time to time with the SD&EMG.
