Mayor of Harrow dips in during school visit!

Published 6th November 07

Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Jean Lammiman joined Year 4 pupils from Grimsdyke School, Harrow in a session of pond dipping at Three Valleys Water’s Education and Environment Centre, Clay Lane, Bushey.

The pupils visited the Centre to learn about the journey of water from its source to the customer's tap and examine the water cycle. "It is part of our efforts to promote water efficiency in its widest sense, and I am pleased the Mayor took time out of her busy schedule to talk to the pupils about what they had learnt during their day at our education centre," said Ted Casey, Education Services Manager at Three Valleys Water.

The Mayor added; "The future of our environment is in the hands of young people and this Centre run by the Three Valleys Water Education team helps youngsters appreciate how important water is to sustain life. It is clear that a day at Clay Lane provides a valuable hands-on experience."

"The pupils also learned valuable tips about water conservation and saving water at home and at school and how being on a water meter can actually save money as you pay for the amount of water used."
