Everyone knows a Harrow Hero – who’s yours?

Harrow's Heroes

Not all heroes wear capes! Harrow’s Heroes awards are back this September and we want your nominations!

It may be a simple act of kindness, incredible courage and bravery shown in the face of adversity or even a battle against the odds to make a difference to your community or loved one. Harrow’s Heroes celebrates and awards these amazing people – and now is your chance to nominate a team or individual for this year’s awards.

From our volunteers, scouts, mentors, and litter-pickers to our teachers and emergency services, there are thousands of selfless individuals and teams who make a huge difference to our lives and our communities - often without the recognition they deserve.

Cllr Sue Anderson, Cabinet Member for Community Engagement and Accessibility said:

“There are thousands of unsung heroes in Harrow – those people who go above and beyond to make Harrow a special place for us all to live and work.

“From everyday acts of kindness to changing or saving lives, they sacrifice their time and energy to improve the wellbeing of others and their community. It’s true to say not all heroes wear capes – they walk among us bringing a little bit of everyday sunshine to all.

“Perhaps you know one or have experience of the good they’ve done. If so, then we want to hear from you. These are our heroes and we want to hear their stories.”
