Council supports cancer unit

Members of Harrow Council have unanimously voted to fight to save cancer services at Mount Vernon Hospital.
Councillors representing all parties agreed at their meeting on Thursday 18 October to urge the Government to pledge to keep cancer services at the hospital, amid suggestions the service - which is a centre of excellence - may be moved to South West Herts.
Their motion asked "the Secretary of State for Health to listen, not only to the council, but also to the many members of the public and the local MPs who have fought for many years to retain this valuable local service."
