See Harrow at its most bling with Christmas tree lights switch on

Apprentice star Sajan Shah

You realise there’s not many shopping days to go… when the Christmas tree lights go on in Harrow town centre.

The big day is this Saturday – and The Apprentice star and Harrow resident Sajan Shah will be doing the honours… now he has a bit more time on his hands!

The Christmas Tree Switch On event, supported by Harrow Business Improvement District, is a time to soak up the festive vibe with our local traders and entertainers – including the cast of Harrow Arts Centre’s The Wizard of Oz production.

Cllr Keith Ferry, Portfolio Holder for Business, Planning and Regeneration, said: “What better time than Christmas to bring the whole community together? Saturday is all about soaking up Harrow town centre’s jolly atmosphere, led by our local traders, and enjoying the good music and tasty food on offer.

“It’s also a chance to do some Christmas shopping and support our local businesses – building a better Harrow for everyone.”

The shopping hub, expected to attract thousands of visitors throughout the afternoon, will be abuzz with entertainment including:

• Dance crew Kidology
• Dhol drummers
• Food stalls
• Children’s rides
• Santa’s Grotto opposite Debenhams
• Radio Harrow outside The Royal Oak pub 12pm-6pm
• Polar Bear Trail at St Anns Shopping Centre

The main switch-on event at 5.30pm will end with a bang -  a colourful fireworks display above St. George’s Centre… leaving time afterwards to shop for gifts.
