Weald Rise celebrates new state-of-the-art building

Weald Rise opening

Weald Rise Primary School marked the beginning of a new era with singing, cake and a time capsule as its new building was officially opened.

Headteacher Mrs Folake Agbaniyaka said:
“Now we have a state-of-the-art modern school that’s fit for a modern education and nobody is happier than the children. They love the bright, spacious new classrooms and purpose-built, well equipped music and food technology room. Our school song has never been more true than it is today – ‘We are proud of Weald Rise Primary School’.”

Cutting the ribbon on opening day, Deputy mayor of Harrow Cllr Kareema Marikar told pupils they could grow up to be whatever they wanted – even Mayor.

Contractors Kier buried a time capsule on the site and pupils sang the school song for guests, including governors and parents.

The new building in Robin Hood Drive includes music and cooking rooms, and new playgrounds. It was funded by the Priority School Building Project.
